How To Post In This Blog?
This tutorial will run though the basics of posting to a Blogger blog. This is intended for newbies and should give a quick overview on how to get you started. This is good as 1, 2, 3...
Step 1: Login
First, you have to register for a Google Account using your e-mail address. Then, you can use this access details everytime you log in to Blogger to make a post to this blog or any blog in which you are authorized to do so.
Once you have access details, enter your username and password and hit Sign In.
Step 2: The Dashboard
This is the starting point for all Blogger accounts. It will list the blogs that you have the access to post to and give you a few other options. Lets click on the New Post link to create a new blog entry.
Step 3: The Post
Now you should be at the post creation screen. This is where you enter the good stuff. The title (A) is the title of this entry and it also gets shown in the web browsers title tag. Make sure that it’s specific to this post and not something to generic.
The big box below the title is the post box. (B) Go ahead and enter in your content. You have the ability to add formatting, links and upload images.
You’ll notice two tabs at the top. (C) Compose is for most users. It gives you the pretty output and hides all the raw HTML code. Advanced users can click the Edit Html tab to do extra formatting or make code edits.
You’ll also see a Preview link. (D) This just shows you how your post will look once it’s rendered in a web browser. Most of the time, it’ll look no different that what you see in the compose tab.
At the bottom you’ll see Labels. (E) This is Bloggers way of organizing information and you can think of them as categories. Type in any words or phrases that you want and separate each one by a comma. I’d suggest putting in one or two word phrases and avoid anything more than three words. These should also function as tags for tag based search engines.
If you are ready for the post to be made live, click the Publish button. (F) Once you do so, your blog will be updated with the new post for everyone to see. If you want to save this post for later, click the Save as Draft button and Blogger will not make it live. Instead it’ll be kept under the Edit Posts area in the top menu and marked as a draft.
These are the basics to get any new Blogger users up and running. Hopefully, it’s easy to understand and follow. If not, let me know what questions or issues you might have.

2 Very Useful YouTube Hacks
Do you utilize YouTube to host videos you create and want to share with the world at the best quality? Has someone else created a YouTube video, but you are only interested in a portion of it for your blog or website? Here are 2 tips that help ensure your audience has a better YouTube experience:
Tip 1. Forcing the browser to use the High Quality version of the video.
You may notice just under the lower right coner of the video window, some videos have an option to “Watch In High Quality”. By default, these videos will play as a 320×240 FLV file at 320Kb/s.
Check out this sample:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBGeNeofk0A
The user could click on this link to “Watch in High Quality” which will reload the video and play the MP4 version , which is 480×360 at 512Kb/s. By adding &fmt=18 to the end of the URL, you’ll make the URL you share with others bring them right to the high quality version.
Here’s the same video in the High Quality view:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBGeNeofk0A&fmt=18
What else are you gaining besides increased video resolution? The video is compressed with H.264 compression, so you get better video even at the same data rate. You also go from a low fidelity mono audio feed to stereo @ 44.1Khz sample rate.
&fmt=6 increases the resolution from 320×240 to 448×336, Flash 7 video @ 900Kbps; audio @ 44.1KHz 96Kbps Mono CBR.
&fmt=18 increases the resolution to 480×360, H.264 video @ 512Kbps; audio @ 44.1KHz 128Kbps Stereo. Note, the bandwidth may be lower, but it’s utilizing a more efficient compression codec.
UPDATE: &fmt=22 increaes the resolution to 720p HD video if the source was uploaded at a high enough resolution.
Tip 2. Advancing the video to a specific playback point.
If you evern wanted to link to a video in YouTube that was lengthy, but had a very interesting part partway through, there is a hack to allow you to begin playback at a precise time. You can specify the minutes and seconds of the start time like this:
add #t=53s to the end of the URL to start at 53 seconds into it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBGeNeofk0A#t=53s
add #t=1m57s to the end of the video URL to start playback at 1 minute 57 seconds:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBGeNeofk0A#t=1m57s
Think of this as bookmarking your video clips! Now you can link to a video, and have an index of the segments included, which link right to that precise moment!

Categories Of Postings Explained...
This blog is open to every Abellanians Class of 1990. Contributions and postings in whatever nature are very much welcome to keep this blogsite as alive as possible. As a principle, contributions/postings will pass through an approval stage as part of the system in blogger by a moderator. Then it will be edited for possible copyright issues, formatting issues and finally spelling issues. But personally, I think the third issue will not work out since we might opt to use our own languange, Bisaya, depending on the decision of the set of moderators soon. In this case, spelling check will be disabled.
Now, as a guide, your contributions/postings will be and must be categorized for proper classification and easier browsing once the blogsite is flooded with posts from you...*wink*.
Categories set are the following:

Any post discussing Abellanians Class of 1990 as a group. Different geographical locations might be holding informal meeting between batchmates, even one on one meeting. This can be posted and be classified in this category.
Members Affairs

any queries that is related to the blogsite.

Advertisements
Activities that deals with our fellow batchmate's business can be published under this category. This might be a sale promotion, business blessing, business proposal or marketing to our fellow batchmates.
ANS News
ANS means Abellana National School, so anything that concerns our school can be published in here.
Tech Talk
As the name calls itself, all technology related posts fall in this category. This might be computer related, gadgets related or world wide web related issues.
Hobbies/Life Tips/Parenting
I'm sure many of us are qualified to share their own ideas in this category being parents ourselves, except to some few... *wink*....
Leisure/Shopping/Showbiz/Concerts
Ladies favorite I guess... no offense please... Any tips that has to do with leisure, shopping, showbiz and concerts is perfect for this category.
Videos
Any post that a has video attachment in it.
Photos
Any post that has a photo attachment in it.
With the set of categories above, I hope all aspects are covered. However, suggestions are still welcome for new categories. Our blogsite is still on the pre-launching stage so everything is open for modification and change.
Lastly, every contribution/posting is open to comments to anonymous readers, for now. This can be changed later on depending on the moderators' preference. It is assumed that it is the contributor's/poster's responsibility to answer any queries to it.
For posting invites, you can leave your name, email adress in the chatbox or send me the details here and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

With the creation of the friendster group of Abellanians Class of 1990, the need for a more versatile and flexible web hosting sites was felt. This is because of the diversified media that the members want to share to every member of the class aside from the continuity of connection or network which is not happening right now among batchmates. It is for this reason that a search for a new and better venue was initiated thus ending in http://www.blogger.com/ as the perfect venue to host this blogsite. The unlimited features in blogger is fitting to the demands of Abellanians Class of 1990 since it's blogs or posts will range from pure text to attachments of photos and videos, plus the unlimited linking of the blogsite to and from the unlimited available pages in the world wide web. The customization features of the blogger is also a big factor hard to disregard to keep the blogsite updated with fast phase technology in web hosting aside from the fact that it is free.
However, in recognition to friendster's popularity in Philippines' internet social networking sites, the membership base of the blogsite will be based on friendster profile of the alumni. But on her/his preference, this can also be linked to other social networking sites by request.
Here is the screenshot of the blogsite:
